cj's first trip to the beach...

I am sooooo behind updating, but part of it has been blogger's fault. For some reason, it wasn't letting me load pictures, so blame them, not me. But honestly, I think it was my fault. But since I am not so computer savvy, and it's working now, we'll call a truce.

While we were in Florida over the summer, we tried to take CJ for his first trip to the beach. It rained so hard that the restaurant on the water where we were eating flooded. I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say both Scott and I had water up to our ankles by the time we finished eating.

Since our first trip was unsuccessful, we tried again while we were home in January. It wasn't swimsuit weather by any means, but it was still nice to put our feet in the sand and smell the salt water.

Here's CJ and daddy getting all bundled up...

And the boys are off. Scott had so much fun doing this with CJ. The best part of the day was seeing these two together.

Daddy showed CJ sand. Everyone has asked how much he ate, but he didn't eat any. This is amazing because CJ is definitely a "put everything in the mouth" kind of guy.

He had so much fun sifting the sand from one hand to the other.

And then he realized he could grab handfuls himself. He grinned so big when he would put his hands down and grab a handful.

Look at this face of pure joy!

Then CJ and daddy were off for an adventure. CJ even took a few steps while only holding onto daddy with one hand.

I wish there was a way for you to listen to this picture. CJ giggled and giggled while Scott was throwing him up. He loves to be thrown, bounced and shaken. He is all boy, and I love watching Scott encourage it.

And then we got closer to the water. He loved looking at it...

and talking to it...

Then CJ and mommy got really close to the water. We talked about how God made the sand and the water, and how God gives us beautiful things like sunsets to remind us of Him. I know he won't remember these conversations, but I hope they continue over the years until he can remember them.

And the BEST picture of the day. I don't think anything can be sweeter than this guy.
