pumpkin patch...

Last Saturday, we met Anna Grace and her family at a pumpkin patch for some fall fun. We were running a little behind them, and by the time we got there Anna Grace already had a wagon picked out for her and CJ to share. Note how she color coordinates...

Anna Grace was ready to go, but CJ took a little while to warm up. We went straight from his nap, and he wasn't quite awake.

We thought a hay ride might cheer him up, but he did NOT like the hay on his hands.

It got worse when the tractor started pulling us. He freaked out when we started to move.

Anna Grace, on the other hand, sat nicely in her Grandma's lap and looked at everything passing by.

Here's the only way CJ would calm down...

But then when the trauma of the hay ride was over, we had lots of fun in the pumpkin patch maze. CJ really enjoyed playing with all the different types of pumpkins. But, I think these were his favorites...

He would have spent forever at the entrance to the maze above, but mommy coaxed him into the maze for some exploring.

But as soon as he saw daddy with the wagon, he wanted to help push. Anna Grace thought it looked like fun, and was all for helping push as well.

Then they realized the wagon was perfect for putting pumpkins into. They played this game for a LONG time. They shared pumpkins with each other, and CJ had a lot of fun taking pumpkins to Anna Grace's grannie. He decided she would be his special friend for the rest of the day...but more on that later.

Scott was trying to get a picture of CJ with a pumpkin over his head. I tried to put it over his head and get him to reach for it. He wanted to carry it. If it had been one of the smaller pumpkins, he would have been fine, but this one was pretty heavy. So mommy helped him carry it over to Anna Grace's grannie.

And then he took a pumpkin to daddy...

Then it was time to torture the children some more with cute pictures in a pile of pumpkins. This was the only picture of CJ where you can see his face, and the only picture of CJ and Anna Grace where they are both at least looking in the direction of the camera.

And how CUTE is this?

But short lived, because CJ saw grannie. It was like he knew she was going to give him candy corn later in the day, and he wanted to make sure they had a solid relationship.

I love that in the background of this picture you can see Anna Grace's Grandma trying to get her to chase CJ and grannie. She was nice and shared her grannie all day with CJ.

Then, we had to say "bye bye" to the pumpkins as we left the maze.

We tried to get a picture of CJ by a pretty waterfall,

but it quickly turned into this. I love my boys!

We also tried to get a family picture, but all CJ wanted to do was play with grannie. This was the best we could do...

But at least we got a cute picture of me and Scott. :)

FUN DAY!!!

waiting for mommy...

Last week I had an early doctor's appointment and Scott stayed home with CJ. He took this series of pictures and titled them "waiting for mommy..."

watch out...

Watch out, you may see flying pigs any minute now.

After 7+ years of marriage, something happened Thursday night that I never thought possible. We went to a battalion hail and farewell, and everyone was supposed to wear something with a logo from "the team they support." Since Scott didn't have a UWF shirt, he actually asked to borrow a BAYLOR t-shirt. And when the plain Baylor ones were too small, he actually willingly wore a BAYLOR CHI-O t-shirt.

I had to get photographic evidence...

fun with granddad...

Last week we got a special treat. Granddad came to visit! The weather was glorious, and CJ and granddad spent a lot of time outside. CJ, who because it is SO hot during the Georgia summers, has spent relatively little time outside, suddenly only wants to be outside. Since it has been so beautiful, we are usually happy to oblige his requests.

Here is what I saw a lot: granddad and CJ trucking down the hill, playing in the cul de sac, headed down to the street for a walk, and then trucking back up the hill. They had so much fun!

And one evening all four of us headed down to the river walk. Here are my three best guys!

It was a beautiful evening, so we spent lots of time lolly-gagging. And playing of course! I don't usually get in many pictures, but this night, Scott was in charge of the camera. I love these...

And then Granddad and CJ were off for some fun exploring. They talked and talked about what they saw...CJ pointing all the way...
