trying to take pictures...

I'll admit, I haven't taken nearly as many pictures of Will as I have of CJ. It's honestly something I'm working hard at doing. So here's some from a week or so ago...

decorating eggs...

CJ's Nannie knew he didn't like to get his hands too dirty (unless he's digging in the dirt), so she thought this would be a great way for him to decorate eggs. It was a BIG hit. I taped them to one of our kitchen cabinets, and at least once a day, he will point to them and say "more!" All the body parts were stickers, so I peeled, and he stuck. The only hiccup came when he put one of the hats on his head. We lost a few of his lovely blond locks with that one.

Can you tell which ones CJ did and which ones are mine? Scott says CJ is a more abstract thinker than I am. :)

I thought his placement of the eyes in this one was impressive. I think he saw me do it first, but I am impressed with his fine motor skills to get those little eyes into the little glasses!

yesterday...

Yesterday was beautiful. We took a long walk in the morning, and then after afternoon naps, we headed to the front yard to play and wait on daddy to come home. I couldn't help but snap some pictures of my cuties...

I have been weeding the front flower beds, and CJ has been a big helper. He wanted to do more, so he pulled this leaf (?) off our monkey grass.

When he caught me taking his picture, here is what happened...

And with that, I was done. I took the hint, and decided to play with my boys instead of watching the fun pass me by through my camera lens. :)

a growing experience...

I have been painting with CJ for a long time. If you know me well, and you know my child well, you would think the mess of it would stress us both out. Fortunately, we both got over that. What does stress me out though is mixing paint... like putting the paint brush with red on it into the green paint. I know, I'm crazy... but at least I own up to it.

Last week, mommy had a growing experience. Scott has been asking when I am going to give CJ two colors for a long time, so I went for it with my brow furrowed. What two colors were they you ask? Why none other than good old green and gold (yellow for you non-Baylor folks).

It was good for both of us, and just like his mommy, when he put the brush with yellow into the green paint, without prodding from me he said, "no no" and shook his finger adamantly at himself. Even with blond hair and blue eyes, it's moments like this that I don't doubt for a minute whose child he is. :) Here are our masterpieces...

And if you cared enough to read this far, here's is another jewel for you. Writing about how I knew our little blond haired blue eyed monkey was mine reminded me of something that happened a few weeks ago. Scott had put CJ into time out, and when he went to get him, he patiently got down onto CJ's level and with words that he could understand was explaining to him why we don't hit. Our little guy, without missing a beat, smiled at his daddy, lifted his leg and farted. Moments like these, we also know that he is definitely his daddys!

safety first...

CJ has recently become enamored with buckling, zipping and buttoning things. Yesterday morning, he wanted to make sure his baby was securely fastened in his high chair at the table. After this, he asked for the tray, and baby sat here for a while. I just love his little brain at work!

CJ and his babies...

About a mont ago, Anna Grace left one of her baby dolls at our house. Her mom said to just keep it because they were over-run with them at her house. I'll admit, I was a little relieved because CJ developed an instant love for it. It made Scott a little crazy at first, but he has given in to it. Last week CJ's baby got it's own bottle, and when I would feed Will, CJ would feed his baby. Today, as he was feeding the doll, he told me it was all done, and then got a burp cloth, sat it up in his lap, put the burp cloth under its chin just like I do Will, and then patted its back. So funny.

Here is CJ with both his babies...

three months...

A month ago, I didn't think Will could get any more well-natured or smiley.... I was wrong. He is such an easy going guy, and always ready for a chat complete with lots of smiles. We had a garage sale today, and he smiled and talked to everybody. He was quite a hit.

But here is what you are all here for... pictures...

CJ funnies...

This guy CRACKS me up! These are all pictures from my phone I finally downloaded. He has recently developed an aversion to having his picture taken, so sometimes all I can do is snap a quick shot with my phone. Sorry for the horribly quality!

When we were setting things up for Will, we got out CJ's old swing. When he was little he HATED it. He probably spent 5 minutes in it his entire life, until he decided it was his favorite new spot to crash. We weren't too worried about it because it turns out, after an international move, a domestic move and being stored in the attic for a year, the swing wouldn't swing. It would play music and vibrate, but no swinging. CJ didn't seem to mind though...

If you ask CJ how old he is, he will always tell you, "one" but sometimes he'll show you one finger too. I have actually been amazed that he understands the meaning of one and two. The other day I asked him to take three things to my room. He put two down, and told me, "One go mama roo, back two." Translated, "I am going to take this one to mama's room and then come back for these two." Pretty impressive if you ask me!

Lightning was (is) a favorite toy around here. We got it at a garage sale for 25 cents, so we didn't expect a lot. If you shake it, it makes noise and then shoots off by itself. This makes CJ laugh so hard... like a throw his head back and laugh from the belly laugh. It's priceless. Unfortunately, Lightning has seen his better days. At first he would keep working if you changed his batteries. One day Scott wouldn't change the batteries fast enough, so CJ got out his tools and tried to do it himself. The first picture he is telling me that Lighting is broken and he needs batteries...

And then he gets down to business...

Why are these shoes in the hall you ask?

new duds...

A few weeks ago, Lauren, one of my besties from Baylor came for a visit. It was too short (as always), but we love it when she is here. Because she is like family, we just settled into life with her and her husband... so again, I totally forgot to take pictures! Drat it!!!

But I digress. She brought CJ and Will the CUTEST present. Check them out...

I think they look like super heroes. And I love the colors... he he. Sic' em little Bears!
