better late than never??

Granted, we went to Tennessee over a month ago, but I just couldn't not post pictures. It'll be a four part post. :) We had lots of fun.

On our way to Tennessee, we followed Gran. When we stopped at a Burger King to get out, stretch, play and eat. I was excited when CJ dug into his fries and chicken. Usually to get him to eat either, I had to bribe him with applesauce or yogurt (don't judge me!). Check him out...he was focused.

Then he started coughing. Not a huge deal if you know CJ; he coughs a lot. But then he started coughing harder and harder. Then he started to gag. And then it happened; he threw up. And then he threw up more, and more and more. It was horrible. I was so thankful my mom was there. Here he is a few hours later though, no worse for wear...

Once we got to Nanny the Great and Gran's house, we had lots of fun. Will loved all the new toys...

And we all had lot of fun with Ms. Janice. She took us swimming one morning, and here are my two little ones in their matching clothes after a morning of fun. After they wore this home from the pool, CJ kept asking to "wear outfits," meaning "Can Will and I wear our matching outfits?"

We have a tradition of feeding the ducks at the pond outside mom's church. CJ chased the ducks last time, but this time he did a great job of actually feeding them.

Will brought his own duck (actually a chicken).

After feeding the ducks, we headed over to the playground. When CJ saw it, he said, "play play group." He wanted to play with his friends...so sweet. He had a great time in the little car...

And then a sweet friend joined us. CJ had sooo much fun chasing Lilly. He ran after her all over the playground saying, "Chase Lilly. Chase Lilly."

And I loved watching him climb, run, chase, hide, explore and be his crazy self.

What I also love is finally understanding some of the crazy things he does. Can you see him pushing the car under the play structure? He touched it and said, "hot." Then he pushed it into the shade to cool it off. I so enjoy beginning to understanding the way his brain works.

After the park, we headed to Aunt Carrrr (Aunt Carla) and Unk Jer (Uncle Jerry's) house to play with cousins and eat a yummy, yummy breakfast. This is Jake; he and CJ are only about 4 months apart so they have a great time together.

They shared books, toys and had lots of fun dancing, playing in the tent and tickling Will's feet!

Will had lots of fun with his Aunt Carla too. He didn't mind when the big boys headed out to play by themselves.

A few days later we played some more after a yummy, yummy hamburger dinner.

Jake loves tractors, and CJ had fun watching videos of tractors with Aunt Carrr and Jake.

Again, Will didn't mind the big boys doing their own thing for a while. He got snuggle time with Angie...

A few days later we got to hang out with Uncle Ronny and Aunt Doris. CJ got good snacks from Aunt Doris and snuggled her while he ate it. Then Will got some good snuggles while CJ played outside with Uncle Ronny. CJ was in boy heaven...

And for some reason, whenever CJ and Gran would go the the store, the firemen were always there getting food! The first time, CJ was a little freaked out. But after that, he made himself right at home.

Here he is getting an official Jr. Firefighter sticker!

CJ also got into photography while we were gone. This one is called "belly shot with Aunt Doris's couch."

This one is "Nanny the Great's fan"

"Gran"

and I'll end this post with a self portrait. This is is simply titled, "me."

first baseball game...

Well, outta the womb that is! CJ and Scott got to meet Scott's brother Richard, his son Nathan and Papa in Atlanta for a braves game. CJ borrowed my hat and they looked quite handsome together...

Can you tell that whatever daddy does, CJ thinks is soooo cool? I'm so thankful that he is a good role model.

And here are the cousins at the game.

CJ was amped up. Scott said he got a little crazy and they had to go run around (literally) for about 30 minutes. They both had a great time. Whenever we mention Atlanta, CJ still says, "go baseball." And it sometimes is, "go baseball daddy." Priceless memories...

CJ's birthday day...

Sometimes life is crazy. Sometimes things in my house get misplaced (yes, it even happens to me). So I finally found the cord to our small camera and the small camera when I had time to download the pictures from it. :)

On CJ's actual birthday he had lots of fun. He woke up and had lots of fun playing with granddad.

Then we were off to Atlanta to have some fun at the aquarium. Scott and I got CJ season passes for his birthday. We decided he had plenty of "things," but what we wanted him to have more of was time as a family. It was a great decision...even if he looks like he hates life in the picture with me. :) He just wanted to go look at the fish!

He had some super silly fun hanging out with granddad...

And then after lunch we walked across the street to a great park and had even more fun. It was an absolutely lovely day!

mess free finger painting...

CJ has a wonderful heart, and he loves to help. What he doesn't realize though is that sometimes his help really isn't all that helpful. One day, I really needed to get a few things done in the kitchen that he just couldn't "help" with. I knew I needed a distraction, so I broke out an activity I had been saving for just such an occasion. I got this body wash for free a while back, so I was fine with using it for something other than its intended purpose. I let him squeeze some of the fun blue colored body wash into a ziplock bag, and then he could finger paint with no mess. He loved it! If your kids are a little older, or you have just been to the beach, it would be fun to add shells and beach treasures to the bag too.
